Home Reversion Schemes are a type of equity release, but they are not very popular.
This is because they require you to sell a share of your home to a company, and you may have to sell a larger share than you want. For example, if you want to raise 20% of the value of your home, you might have to sell a 40% share.
Once you have sold a share of your home, it will no longer be in your name, but you will be allowed to stay living there for the rest of your life. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the property.
We cannot provide advice on Home Reversion Schemes. If you are interested in finding out more about Home Reversion Schemes, we can put you in touch with a company that specialises in helping people with this type of equity release.
There may be a fee for mortgage advice, the exact amount will be based on your circumstances & will be agreed following your initial meeting. A typical fee is £1,495 payable on completion.
